One of the most welcoming and organised cities, Bangkok is my favorite without doubt. Today I share my experiences about my trips to Bangkok.

Just a reminder that I am not a professional traveler who settles for organised trips but someone who blessedly has unique pair of eyes to appreciate some of the basic sights and the little joys that travelling brings. I do see places with fresh uninhibited eyes, if you need to learn about the feel of the place then go on...read on...

I just lurve Bangkok its my chilling out city and hence the fav. in the whole world. So full of fun fun and more fun, Bangkok defies all human created rules. And being a rule breaker I surely love this essence of the city. Entertainment is cheap and affordable. The shopping is great, which is a dream come true for any girl.
The food is out of the world, so fresh and oh so winning in every way! Just writing about it makes my mouth water! Nothing like Thai food in Thailand. You simply cant get that flavor anywhere else in the world. "Perhaps the water does the trick"! The famous food connoisseurs may suggest. I have tried Thai food in India, US, Australia, Mexico, Singapore and Malaysia but Thai food has that sensuous taste only in Thailand, no where else!

People make any place and so it gives me immense pleasure to write about the hospitality Thailand offers. People are warm and totally service oriented. You will get a good feel of this first hand if you are flying Thai Airways. I personally love
Thai Airways, one of the most caring and sweet  air stewards and stewardess serve in these flights. I vouch that cultural background has a strong role to play in this. I mean who would prefer the cold and rude staff from the likes of United Airlines or Qantas. The attitude most of the western Airline staff carry is "we are doing you a favor by letting you fly with us". While the attitude the likes of Thai Airlines project is "we welcome you from the bottom of our hearts". This is something you can see and feel.

At the Airport too you have great service
although language can be a barrier at times, but things do have their flaws, eh and you got to accept them. Clearly the positives out weigh the set backs if any.

Massage is another bliss in Thailand. Ans so many of them in number that the streets are flooded with Massage shops, it makes the place a massage paradise! People say 'Swadika', give you that bright beautiful smile and trust me its genuine. Tourism being their prime economy generator they do believe 'Guest is God'! So go for the genuineness of this beautiful hospitable country and just trust in the process of life that you are there to have one of the greatest times of your lives!

The
nights are awesome next to nothing in the world and you could see all the sin and the bling if you just take a walk on the scintillating streets of Bangkok. The streets are alive, music blaring, bars and restaurants up temporarily for a few hours on the foot paths. Lady boys walking around and you would have no clue if they are not girls till the moment they open their mouths to speak. And then you would hear strange male voice coming out of their mouths!

Sex change
is so easily available in Thailand. Its hard to comprehend its done in the most professional way as well as economical that I have ever seen or heard. And I think also for most of the people reading this blog....:)

Escort services of all kinds are available that people would have ever imagined and lady boys are the top people shuffling the currency and providing this service. Scoring high in catalyzing Bangkok tourism.
Three cheers to lady boys!

One of the best things I love about the city is the
MBK mall, there is nothing under the sun that you can't find over there. From makeup to diamonds, gold and silver jewelry, clothes and newest fashion, kids wear, electronics, foot wear, designer wear, skin care, leather jackets, food courts, exclusive restaurants and the list continues... they are categorically placed so you can spend how much ever your budget permits! Oh yes and there are many more malls but this is the icing of the cake and perhaps one of the oldest malls of Bangkok.
One thing that absolutely steals my heart is the Tiger Temple or Tiger World. I love being there. I would keep going there every time I visit Bangkok and I bet my heart would never be content for my special love for little cubs. I question myself if holding my baby was one of the most astounding moments of my life or holding the little tiger cub?! Here you can spend the most memorable one hour of your life with baby tigers, cuddling them. You are also given a bottle to feed the cub and if you are a tiger lover you could also volunteer to work there for a few months, provided you qualify. Now this is one valuable piece of information I am giving out :) that will not be published anywhere. Yes they do have adult tigers as well that are chained and also look sedated for some reason :( But you just can't miss this experience!!

Oh yea the bike rides get you to places much quicker and cheaper than cabs. Although sky trains are a good option but you can't really avoid the pollution if your are a fresh air freak!

Buddhist temples are another great experiences if you enjoy the quiet or some mediation. There is a believe that when you let birds fly of a cage you also free yourself and step towards self realization on the spiritual realm. There are street vendors who charge you a small amount for this act and let you earn the thrill!

Some 16 yrs ago, I being a free soul had planned a stopover at Bangkok all by myself and that was my first time ever there. It was a traumatic trip as I had lost my way and most people at that time couldn't speak or understand English. In those 24 hours of my stay there, I had somehow ended up at a Police Station as I had totally lost my way and my taxi driver who couldn't understand me drove me to the PS. That was one scary day of my life, I thought they would trap me in a scam and never let me return home and that I would never see my folks again. I ran from the PS for my life as fast as I could and saw the cops chase me a bit and then they stopped. I thanked my stars and just as I took a deep breath, an angel of a guy in a taxi turned up and brought me to the airport. The manager of the hotel where I was staying was kind enough to send my luggage to the airport as well. I just about made it to my flight. Wow that day is still a nightmare in my memories!

So after such a traumatic and dramatic experience you would think I must be crazy to go back there. But since then I have been to Bangkok several times and each time I love it even more! First impressions are not really the last ;) The place keeps growing on me and its now as good as second home.

Sukhumvit is my fav area of Bangkok, love walking on the streets around there. These streets are absolutely transformed at night and in full action. Bangkok is also the fashion hub and you get most of the fashionable stuff there, things that you never thought existed or can be created!! Its absolutely mad spur of the moment shopping when you are in Thailand.

I hope you have had fun reading this blog. I feel whatever one does should be full of fun if not it shouldn't be done at all!
Oh I wanna live in Thailand for some time...can't get enough....:)
